Goal-Oriented Strategy

H2 Strategic Partners provides consulting services to help our clients develop actionable, aspirational, multi-year strategic plans.  We work with Board leadership, staff leadership and listen to broad cross sections of constituencies to help our clients discern their Core Purpose, adopt aspirational goals, and develop strategies to achieve those goals.

Phase 1

Prepare the Project Team

1. Identify & recruit leadership/legacy team

2. Obtain Lists of Constituents

3. In consultation with Leadership, use Lists of Constituents to Develop:

  • Interview list
  • Focus group list
  • Survey list
  • “Advance” Participant list

Phase 2

Obtain Constituent Input

1. Conduct 20 -30 interviews (Zoom and in-person)

2. Conduct 2-4 Focus groups (Zoom and in-person)

3. Conduct survey (online)

4. Conduct Staff Interviews/Focus Group (Zoom and in-Person)

5. Conduct Internal Operations Data Gathering

6. Review Internal Operations for red flags, alignment, prioritization

7. Review all constituent input for themes & prepare staff/external input for Advance exercises

Phase 3

Synthesize Input and Develop Strategic Framework

1. Hold Advance (we don’t retreat!… only advance!)

  • Develop Core Ideology
  • Develop Goals – BHAG
  • Develop Strategies


2. Draft top-level Strategy Executive Summary

3. With Staff, Develop Initial Tactics

4. Develop Measurements for each strategy – aligned with Goals
